What your reviews reveal
Most owners read reviews one at a time. The report groups them into patterns: who waited, who could not reach you, and language suggesting a caller considered or chose another business.
Reviews shape decisions before the phone rings
When someone searches for a plumber or HVAC tech on Google, the reviews load right there in the map pack. Prospects scan star ratings, then skim the text. They're looking for red flags.
Reviews about bad communication — "left a voicemail and never heard back," "called three times," "ended up going with someone else" — tell the next searcher to skip you. It doesn't matter that your work is excellent. They never get far enough to find out.
The problem compounds. Every review mentioning a missed call or slow reply pushes your effective conversion rate down. You're paying for visibility (through SEO, ads, or years of reputation) and then losing the lead at the last step.
How the report works
The report scans your public Google reviews and flags language patterns that signal communication problems. Each review is categorized by severity, and the patterns are grouped into a Communication Score.
Reviews where a customer explicitly says they called another company or went elsewhere. This is the strongest signal of lost revenue.
Mentions of calling outside business hours and not being able to reach anyone. For trades businesses, evenings and weekends are peak emergency call windows.
Customers who left a message and waited too long for a response, or never heard back. Even a 2-hour delay can lose an emergency job.
Vague complaints about being hard to reach, unclear scheduling, or poor follow-up. These erode trust for the next prospect reading the review.
Built for trades businesses
The Review Report works for any trades business with a Google Business Profile. We built it for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and general contracting — the trades where missed calls hit hardest.
Search your name and see what your reviews say about getting through to you. Most owners are surprised by what they find.
Look up businesses in your area. If their reviews mention communication problems, that's opportunity you can capture by answering faster.
If you need to justify a call-answering solution to a partner or manager, a report showing documented lost calls in your reviews is hard to argue with.
Understanding your score
Your Communication Score is not your star rating. A business can have 4.8 stars and still show a pattern of missed calls in the review text. Stars measure overall satisfaction. The Communication Score measures whether people can reach you.
The score weighs different complaint types by severity. A review saying "I called someone else" counts more than a review saying "took a while to get back to me." Both matter, but one represents confirmed lost revenue.
The city average gives you context. If your score is below the average for your trade in your market, prospects comparing you to competitors are seeing a gap — and it's costing you leads.
The bottom line
Every trades business has a communication story buried in its reviews. The question is whether you know yours — and whether the next prospect likes what they see.
